Perinatal Mental Health - Postpartum Depression/Anxiety, NICU parents
As parents and parents-to-be, we are faced with an enormous pressure of bringing new life into the world. With this pressure often comes worry that we will not be good enough, disappointment that we are not connecting with our little ones as we had hoped, and significant adjustment to our existing relationships. Beyond that, we are often dealing with the opinions of others that leave us wondering if we're really cut out for motherhood at all. These can be very isolating and scary experiences; We are here to face the challenges with you. Together, we will find ways to help you navigate preparing for or adjusting to a new baby in your life.
Postpartum depression and anxiety is not just limited to birthing people - birthing partners are also susceptible to similar symptoms. Around one in ten partners experience increased irritability, anger, aggression, anxiety, avoidance, and/or substance use during the postpartum period. If that sounds like you and you'd like to do something about it, please feel free to reach out and we can decide if working on that in therapy is right for you.

Parenthood Issues: Across the Parenthood Spectrum
You're a parent. You might spend all day taking care of the kids, taking care of your home, and there just aren't enough hours in the day to get it all done. You might be at work all day and then try to come home and squeeze in dinner and time with the family but it just doesn't feel like enough. You might even feel like you're losing connection with your teenager. Taking time for yourself to address the challenges of parenthood is incredibly important and a passion of mine. In order for our children to grow up happy and healthy, we must take care of ourselves as well (no matter how difficult that may feel). Plus, with all of the hard work that you do every day, you deserve to feel good! I am here for you virtually to help you take care of you.
Parenthood doesn't just end when your kids are no longer little, either. For you moms and dads out there that are struggling with figuring out how to handle your relationship with your latency, teenaged, or adult child, I've got you too! At these ages, it's a constant battle trying to figure out how to help your child, especially if they're struggling. I am here to help you explore your relationship with your child and how to make things different.
