Who am I and what's it like to work with me?
Hi! I'm Kate, the owner of Anchor Wellness.

Some Personal and Professional Background About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Connecticut and a registered telehealth provider in Florida. I am a member of the American Counseling Association and the Connecticut Counseling Association and have specialized education through Postpartum Support International and the Seleni Institute. I also have been a trainer for and have extensive experience in the Risking Connection curriculum, a framework through the Traumatic Stress Institute that supports trauma-informed practice. I have been in the mental health field for over 10 years in various capacities including as a counselor on an inpatient hospital unit, a clinician for multiple in-home programs and outpatient services, and a supervisor/clinical coordinator for in-home mental health programs.

One thing that I have learned from my experience is that the struggles of life do not discriminate. Everyone experiences them, and everyone stumbles. When I became a mother, I learned what it was like to have my world flipped upside down. Let me tell you, I'm not sure how gracefully I made it through, but I do know that supports are key. Now a mother of two, I have become extremely passionate about helping mothers create that "balance" we always hear everyone talking about. I have also become aware of the increasing exposure of postpartum depression; as a treater and mother, I believe it is so important to remove the stigma of this diagnosis and to help make resources for suffering mothers more readily available. When you are ready, I will be here to walk through the fire with you.
